American-Made Candles | Handmade in Virginia
American-Made Candles, Handmade in the USA in Virginia
Autumn Laurel & Co. creates American-made candles in small batches from our studio in Christiansburg, Virginia. Our candles are handmade in the USA, with each one hand-poured and finished in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Each candle is hand-poured with a coconut-apricot wax blend, cotton wicks, and fragrance stories inspired by Appalachian landscapes, folklore, seasons, and everyday life.
Our American-made candles combine small-batch craftsmanship with fragrance stories rooted in Virginia and Appalachia.
What makes a candle American-made?
An American-made candle should offer clear information about where it is produced and how it is crafted. At Autumn Laurel & Co., our candles are poured and finished in Virginia. We design the fragrance stories, prepare the vessels, pour the wax, wick the jars, label the products, and package orders here in our Appalachian studio.
Our work is small-batch rather than mass-produced. That allows us to pay attention to fragrance balance, vessel performance, wick testing, cure time, and the details that make a candle feel intentional.
What wax do our American-made candles use?
Our core candle line uses a premium coconut-apricot wax blend. We do not describe these candles as soy candles or beeswax candles because that would be inaccurate. Coconut-apricot wax gives our candles a smooth finish, strong fragrance performance, and a clean, even burn when properly wicked and cared for.
Every candle should be burned responsibly: trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch, allow the wax to melt evenly during the first burn, burn no longer than four hours at a time, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
