Some of Appalachia's sweetest traditions weren't passed down in cookbooks. They were carried from one neighbor to another.

For generations, an Appalachian Apple Stack Cake was more than dessert. At weddings, each guest brought a single layer of cake. Those layers were carefully stacked with slow-cooked apple butter or spiced apple filling, creating one beautiful cake that represented an entire community coming together to support a new family. It was said that the taller the cake, the more loved the couple was.

Our Apple Stack Cake candle honors that tradition with the comforting aroma of baked orchard apples, warm spices, rich molasses cake, and creamy vanilla. Light it and be transported to a mountain kitchen where recipes were treasured, stories were shared around the table, and every slice carried a little piece of home.

Hand-poured in Virginia using coconut apricot wax for a clean, long-lasting burn. Because some traditions deserve to be remembered long after the last slice has been shared.

Candle Care

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn. Never burn longer than four hours at a time, and discontinue use when approximately 1/2 inch of wax remains.
