Now in its 77th year, the Virginia Highlands Festival is an award-winning juried arts and crafts show voted Best Art Event in the Region by Virginia Living Magazine readers. Over 10 days, the festival draws over 22,000 patrons from across multiple states to the Barter Green and Martha Washington Inn lawn in the heart of Abingdon's historic district. The festival celebrates the arts, culture, and heritage of Southwest Virginia and Southern Appalachia.
Stop by the Autumn Laurel booth to shop hand-poured Appalachian candles crafted in apricot coconut wax, rooted in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia — the same mountains and traditions that this festival has celebrated for nearly eight decades.
